On Saturday October 8th, 2011, the second of four Labtones Live! events took place in Dordrecht, The Netherlands. This time, the theme was “Ladies Night”; four female singer-songwriters performed their songs for an enthousiastic audience.

Sarah from Sarah's Blue Dress (whose real name is Joyce and indeed wears a blue dress tonight) brought her full band to the event, consisting of a drummer, bassist, pianist and cello player. Her songs have a melancholic feel, with beautiful melodies. The band plays very well, and very creative too. But probably the most noticing about Sarah's Blue Dress is Sarah's voice: pitch-perfect and full of emotion, giving the songs just the right touch.

Danalyze (Photo: Amber Zwartbol)
Danalyze performs alone, together with her guitar. “I am trying to sound like a full band”, she explains to her listeners. Surprisingly, she manages to sound like a full band indeed. Her guitar playing has a raw edge to it, reminding a bit of PJ Harvey (it is no coincidence that Danalyze covers a PJ Harvey-song in her set). Her voice is beautiful and perfectly fits the folky songs.

Pantoufle normally performs with two other musicians, but at Labtones Live! she performs on her own, supporting herself with her guitar. And she does this in a way like she is always performing like this, only asking for rhythmic and vocal support by the audience on two occasions. She also asks Danalyze on stage for a beautiful duet. Her songs sound very honest and original and a big part of the audience listens in total silence.

The second Labtones Live! event ends with a performance by the Labtones Artist of the Month October: Vera. Together with a double bass player she brings songs from her most recent album Bubbles & Bones, and her previous album Leave a Line. The interaction on stage between Vera and the bassist is really enjoyable and so are the poppy songs and her warm voice.

Mar 1, 2012 at 2:59 AM Thanks for the tips you rveael through your blog. In addition, lots of young women exactly who become pregnant will not even aim to get health care insurance because they dread they might not qualify. Although a lot of states at this point require that insurers produce coverage in spite of the pre-existing conditions. Fees on these guaranteed programs are usually higher, but when thinking about the high cost of medical care it may be some sort of a safer way to go to protect a person's financial potential.
