Artist of the Month March: Grant Moff Tarkin

Artist of the Month

This month's artist of the month Grant Moff Tarkin (BE) are one of Labtones' favourites, not in the least because of a memorable performance at a Labtones Live event some time ago. They play the kind of rootsy blues mixed with grungy, psychedelic rock that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Jangling guitars, a grooving rhythm section and dreamy, female vocals together build a sound that you can listen to for hours.

Their debut EP 'Age Old Moods' was released already in 2005. Their unique sound and songs got positive feedback from the critics. Together with a growing live reputation, they were invited to play in numerous underground clubs in Belgium and even some international music festivals in Spain, The Netherlands and France.

The band's first full-length album 'Quanah's Hunting Day' (2009) caught the attention of the famous Ancient Belgique venue, which embraced the band full-heartedly. As a result, they were able to perform for a sold-out AB Club and as a support act for bands as The Fiery Furnaces and The Lemonheads.

Following this album the band released two more: 'Long Lost Son' (2010) and 'Stormy Weather Blues' (2012). Be sure to check the music video for 'Cotton Clown'!

Currently, the band is touring again, with a new drummer. In the meantime, plans for a new album are becoming more tangible by the day. We cannot wait!
